The 1940s Hollywood that is built by Netflix’s "Hollywood" is nothing short of breathtaking, portraying both the glitz and the glamour of the industry along with its seedier underbelly with equal impressiveness.
Never Have I Ever is definitely a hit in my opinion, a teen comedy series that is continually funny and enjoyable. The cast of young actors is definitely one with a bright future ahead of them, who succeeded in building a group of likeable and relatable characters to bring this series to life.
The Midnight Gospel is utterly Adventure Time-esque but with a much more adult spin on both the animation and the subject matter, which is likely exciting for fans of Adventure Time who grew up with the show but are now old enough to appreciate something a little different and more mature.
This show, reminiscent of Juno’s quirky dialogue and characters and Carrie’s coming-of-age telekinetic powers and iconic gore, grew on me quickly and before I knew it, I had flown through the entire first season.
Despite some unlikeable characters and moments that make you want to scream “WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT” High Fidelity is a series that features a lot of crucial representation that previous iterations of the narrative have been missing and, because of that, likely lands better with today's more tolerant, diverse, and accepting audiences.
The funny, lighthearted spin that this show takes on the daunting process of growing up is what makes it so watchable and, even for someone like me whose patience is fully conditioned to match the fast paced, binge-watching fad that has taken over entertainment, worth waiting for each night that it airs on (gasp!) cable television.
It’s not uncommon for comedies to take their time to build up and reach their crux of sidesplitting entertainment. So while some viewers may have to be patient in order for the show to hit their humor sweet spot, based on everything the first few episodes promise, it’s sure to get there.
While the reboot seems to be taking time learning to stand on its own, Freeform’s Party of Five is able to navigate its political commentaries and relevant storyline to tell a simultaneously heartbreaking and heartwarming story with the intimacy and scrupulousness that makes this show as great as it is
