‘The Gang’s All Queer: The Lives of Gay Gang Members’ is a book by Vanessa R. Panfil that Issa Rae is turning into a series with HBO. Rae is executive producing and has brought on this up-and-comer Jaboukie Young-White to join her. The series follows a 20-year-old in Chicago grieving the loss of someone close them due to gang violence. In attempts to find closure and move on, they drop out of college and turn to treacherous coping methods.
Jaboukie Young-White is playing a major role in the project by both writing and executive producing on the series. Young-White is known for his viral social media posts, stand-up comedy, and writing for comedy series such as ‘Big Mouth’, ‘American Vandal’, and ‘The Daily Show with Trevor Noah’.
