The National Geographic’s anthology series ‘The Hot Zone’ is now in its second season and has found its two leads, Tony Goldwyn And Daniel Dae Kim. The second season titled ‘The Hot Zone: Anthrax’ will follow the anthrax attack following the events of 9/11. Post-9/11 media outlets and Senators were sent envelopes with spores of anthrax inside of them. These attacks caused the hospitalization of 17 people with 5 people ultimately dying as a result of the attack.
Kim will play an FBI agent(Matthew Ryker) who has a specialty in microbiology and puts it all on the line to convince other officials that this was happening. Goldwyn will play a microbiologist(Bruce Ivins) who works with Ivins to uncover the killer. “Tony and Daniel are both wonderfully versatile and dimensional actors who will bring complexity and depth to these characters,” said executive VP scripted and documentary films at National Geographic, Carolyn Bernstein. The series has plans to start filming in early 2021.
