Following Online Controversy, Chrissy Teagan Steps Down From ‘Never Have I Ever’

The Netflix series ‘Never Have I Ever’ is down a voice-actor following Chrissy Tegan stepping down from the show over online controversy. The Mindy Kaling series ‘Never Have I Ever’ follows the high school journey of a first-generation teenage Indian American girl. Teagan was set to be a voiceover for key points in the show. This all started due to the resurfacing of hateful online comments Tegan made towards model Courtney Stodden. Teagan sent messages such as “I can’t wait for you to die” to the model after Stodden’s marriage to a man 44 years older than her.

Teagan made a public apology following an interview Stodden did where she revealed all of the messages sent to her by Teagan. In an apology Tegan wrote, “Not a lot of people are lucky enough to e held accountable for all their past bulls— in front of the entire world. I’m mortified and sad at who I used to be. I was an insecure, attention seeking troll”. Despite this, the series ‘Never Have I Ever’ has yet to find a replacement for Teagan.
