Apple’s new series is focusing on the hardships of mental illness starring Tom Holland. The new series titled ‘The Crowded Room’ is based on Daniel Keyes’ biography ‘The Minds of Billy Milligan’. The 10-episode series will be written by Akiva Goldsman who takes on the story of Billy Milligan (played by Holland) who was the first person ever to be acquitted of a crime due to a mental illness. The series focuses specifically on Multiple Personality Disorder, which is now known as Dissociative Identity Disorder, and how it affected Milligan’s life and case.
Many of us know Holland from the ‘Spider-man’ movie series but the actor has recently branched out to do more dramatic roles. Holland just came off of doing a Russo-brother’s film ‘Cherry’ about a soldier struggling with PTSD. There is no word yet on when the series will start filming (or if they already have) or when the series will be released.
