The CW is taking on the challenge of recreating the ‘Powerpuff Girls’ in live-action. Their newest announcement is the casting of the famous character of Mojo Jojo. Joseph “Jojo” Mondel Jr. will be played by Nicholas Podany, a Julliard graduate. In the series, Mojo Jojo is an insecure and nerdy kid who fuels off of gaining power. As Mojo Jojo grows up his obsession with the Powerpuff Girls skyrockets. Mojo Jojo is struggling with his emotions as he balances being sweet, having envy, and being angry.
This live-action version was announced back in August and the three Powerpuff Girls have already been cast as Chloe Bennet as Blossom, Dove Cameron as Bubbles, and Yana Perrault as Buttercup. Donal Faison will also be playing Professor Utonium. Mojo Jojo has always be portrayed as an antagonist to The Powerpuff Girls. Mojo Jojo in the cartoon helped Professor Utonium as a chimpanzee but that all changed when he accidentally caused the creation of the Powerpuff Girls. In the process, his own DNA was changed and mutated this changed him into a walking talking chimpanzee supervillain.
