A new series entitled Beef is coming to Netflix— starring Ali Wong and Steven Yuen. The comedy-drama will explore a road-rage incident that slowly consumes its victims. Lee Sung Jin will serve as the show runner and executive producer.

Ali Wong is no novice to the Netflix community, having starred in two stand-up specials (Baby Cobra, Hard Knock Wife), and one film (Always Be My Maybe) on the platform.

Steven Yuen, longtime fan-favorite and star of The Walking Dead, was nominated for his first Oscar this year for his performance in A24’s Minari. His nomination is a landmark achievement, having been the first Asian American to receive a Best Lead Actor nod.

“Sung Jin has created a bold and at times outrageous world,” Jinny Howe, Netflix’s Vice President of drama development, says. “It is an honest and powerful character study of two people who go about searching for connection in the unlikeliest of ways.”
