The eight season-long action fiction series had plans for a spinoff at the CW but have since been canceled. ‘Arrow’ announced in September of 2019 that the series would end on their eighth season, with its last episode scheduled to air on January 28th, 2020. In season eight, the ninth episode of the season is titled ‘Green Arrow & The Canaries’ which was seen by many, as an unofficial trailer for the spinoff.

The spinoff was supposed to take place two decades following the end of ‘Arrow’ season eight. It planned to star Katherine McNamara, Katie Cassidy, and Juliana Harkavy. Executive producers on the spinoff were Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Beth Schwartz, Marc Guggenheim, Jill Blankenship, and Oscar Balderrama.
