Netflix just announced that they bought the worldwide rights to ‘Malcolm & Marie’ for a cool $30 million. It stars Zendaya and David Washington. The film will follow a filmmaker and his girlfriend work through relationship troubles after coming home from a movie premiere. ‘Malcolm & Marie’ is created and directed by Sam Levinson. It was filmed over the summer and went to extreme lengths to keep everyone safe and healthy.
Sam Levinson also created Euphoria, many of the actors/crew from Euphoria appearing/working on ‘Malcolm & Marie’ too. Levinson said this about the production, “I am so grateful to this cast and crew, many of whom are my ‘Euphoria’ family, for coming together during such uncertain times. We felt privileged to be able to make this film together and we did so with a lot of love. We are all thrilled that it has ended up with Netflix which is unparalleled in allowing filmmakers the freedom to tell their stories that reach audiences all over the world”.
