Amber Riley and Naya Rivera were both co-stars on the Fox series ‘Glee’ together. Naya Rivera passed away in a boating accident in July. She was 33 and leaves behind her 4-year-old son, Josey. Riley paid tribute to her friend by singing her new single ‘A Moment’ as pictures of Rivera were displayed. Riley said this about Rivera, “my favorite duet partner” and “I love you. I miss you. I don’t have words right now, just lots of feelings. Rest In Peace Angel, and know your family will never have to worry about anything.”
Lil Rey Howard also guest-hosted that night of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’. He talked about the walk-outs across sports the past weekend, the RNC, and police brutality. Howard introduced Riley saying, “Not too long ago, we both lost a really good friend in a tragic accident and we both will miss her forever.” Support for Riley and Rivera poured out on social media, with co-star Joel McHale posting, “Our queen is singing for our other queen. Thankful for @MsAmberPRiley always. She’s the strongest.”
