Amazon Studios has licensed the rights to Bethesda’s Fallout franchise. The creators of Westworld are set to oversee the TV series. Although the project is currently in development, the project has a series commitment penalty attached. This means if the Amazon executives like the script, the Fallout TV series can pass the pilot stage and go directly to a series.
“Making its debut in 1997, Fallout is set in the future envisioned by Americans in the lat 1940s when the country explodes upon itself through a nuclear war in 2077. The series takes place in a harsh wasteland set against the previous generation’s utopian idea of a better world through nuclear energy.”
