HBO Max’s upcoming ‘Green Lantern’ series has nearly greenlighted (haha, get it?) actor Jeremy Irvine. If selected, Irvine will portray Alan Scott, the powerful superhero and— true to the comics— a gay man.

The show was first announced in 2019 and ordered by HBO Max.

Irvine is most known for his roles in the musical comedy ‘Mama Mia, Here We Go Again’ and historical drama ‘War Horse.’
