Bo Burnham and Jason Segel are set to star in HBO’s upcoming Lakers series. The drama will chronicle the Los Angeles basketball team’s rise to fame in the 80s.

Bo Burnham will portray Lakers competitor and Boston Celtics star Larry Bird. Jason Segel will play a nemesis of Bird’s— Paul Westhead, a retired professor who becomes an assistant basketball coach to the Lakers.

Bo Burnham is one of many rising stars cast in the show. The comedian-turned-director-turned-actor has been making waves in Hollywood recently, having been featured critical success, Promising Young Woman.
