The Squarespace commercial did a modern-day take on Parton’s classic song.
“How do we approach someone as legendary as Dolly Parton and ask her if it’s ok to rewrite and reimagine one of her most iconic songs?” David Lee, Squarespace’s chief creative officer, commented. “Turns out that not only did she love the idea, she also loved the rewrite.”
The rewrite of ‘9 to 5’ is ‘5 to 9’- a spin on the theme song from the TV show of the same name. The changed times reflect the hours of today’s dreamers and hustlers, working on their art and side gigs aside from standard work hours. The ad for the commercial is linked below.
