‘Game Of Thrones’ will officially have a prequel titled ‘Tales of Dunk and Egg’. The series will take place about 90 years prior to when ‘Game of Thrones’ was set. It will follow the story of Ser Duncan the Tall (Dunk) and Aegon V Targaryen (Egg). Many fans were a buzz about this spinoff back in 2017 but series writers denied the possibility. There isn’t a writer attached to the project yet but it will loosely follow novellas written by George R.R. Martin.
While this may have been one of the first announced prequels, it was not the last. Two other prequels for ‘Game of Thrones’ have also been in the works. The first one will follow the Targaryen dynasty and will be set 300 years before the time of ‘Game of Thrones’. The title of it is ‘House of the Dragon’ and is slated to premiere in 2022. There was a second prequel in the works but was inevitably called off in 2019.
