The CW channel has a new DC comic series in the works titled ‘Naomi’. The series will be both executively produced and written by Ava DuVernay. The series is based on the novel written by Brian Michael Bendis and David F. Walker and will be animated by Jamal Campbell. ‘Naomi’ will follow the story of a teenage girl who has a supernatural event happen in her hometown and she starts her quest to discover its origins. Her journey pulls her from her tiny northwestern town to navigating through the multiverse.

While the CW has not officially confirmed that the series will air, if it did, it would be the first non-Greg Berlanti directed DC series on the network. This series is coming at a time when the CW is trying to expand its variety of DC comic series.
