The Children’s Program Category for the Emmy’s is Getting Moved From Primetime to Daytime

The Emmys have decided to switch the Children’s Program Category from the Primetime Emmy’s to the Daytime Emmys. With the popularity of streaming over the past few years, the line between daytime and nighttime has been blurred “causing a little bit of confusion” said Maury McIntyre, chief operating officer for the Television Academy.

The switchover to the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences(NATAS) is being justified since they already have multiple categories for kid’s programming. But due to streaming, the kid’s programming category is not the only category being re-evaluated. Game shows and talk shows are also walking the same line kid’s programming is.
