‘The Magicians’ Will Be Closing Curtain with Season 5

Syfy’s signature fantasy series will be concluding for good on April 1st.

Based on Lev Grossman’s novel of the same name, ‘The Magicians’ has suffered a severe ratings decline this season. Compared to Season 4, its ratings have dropped a startling 26%. So with five episodes still remaining in the season, Universal Content Productions and Syfy have decided to discontinue the series now.

“‘The Magicians’ has been a part of our Syfy family for five fantastic seasons,” Syfy declared in a prepared stateement, “As we near the end of this journey, we want to thank John McNamara, Sera Gamble, Henry Alonso Myers, Lev Grossman, and our entire brilliant cast, crew, writers and directors for their beautiful creation. But most of all, we thank the fans for their tremendous support and passion. Because of you, magic will be in our hearts forever.”

Gamble and McNamara created ‘The Magicians’. The show is executive produced by Myers, Chris Fisher, and Michael London and Janice Williams.
