Dakota Fanning will star alongside Fleabag’s “sexy priest” Andrew Scott in Ripley, based off Patricia Highsmith’s Tom Ripley book series. Oscar-winner Steven Zaillien will write and direct.

Fanning is not a novice of the small screen. Recently, she starred in the limited series The Alienist, and portrayed Squeaky Fromme in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Showtime exec Amy Israel remarked that “she’s an actor that brings smarts and vulnerability to every part, with so much bubbling beneath the surface. We can’t wait to see her sink her teeth into this role in Steve Zallian’s Ripley.”
