From Heather Regnier, Diablo Cody, and Greg Berlanti, the update would follow adult versions of the original characters.

The CW network is developing a live-action update of Cartoon Network’s ‘Powerpuff Girls.’ Regnier and Cody are writing the script and will executive produce with Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and David Madden of Berlanti Productions.
