The top 22 teams that were expected to compete in March will be taking part in the upcoming season.
On Thursday, the National Basketball Association’s Board of Governors is expected to approve the plan for a 22-team return-to-play. This season will conclude that of 2019-2020. After suspending its season in early March due to the coronavirus pandemic, the season is expected to pick up on July 31st. It will reportedly be held at Walt Disney World’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida. The NBA’s announcement comes only a week after the Walt Disney Company announced its plans for a phased reopening of the Florida parks beginning on July 11th.
