’American Idol’ has recently been renewed on ABC. Judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and host Ryan Seacrest will return with unsigned deals — the most expensive part of production.
The announcement comes out before the third season’s remote finale has even aired. Although ratings have declined gradually in part to the coronavirus pandemic, viewership amongst adults 18-49 have been up 23% this season.
