The new streamer’s documentary will focus on the sexual assault allegations made against music mogul Russell Simmons.

‘On the Record’ was directed and produced by Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering. It will center specifically on accusers Drew Dixon (the first woman of color to come through with allegations), Sil Lai Abrams, and Sheri Sher. These three women all accused Simmons of raping them in the 1990’s- allegations which Simmons has denied. Premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January, Oprah Winfrey and Apple TV+ were involved in the project early on, but left right before its premiere. HBO Max picked up the project in February.
