HBO Asia Announces Taiwanese Original Series, ‘Workers’

WarnerMedia announced that this new show is part of the studios’ goal to increase original content production in the Asia-Pacific region.

‘Workers’ is set to be an hour-long, six-episode dramedy following a group of construction workers who make fools out of themselves with get-rich-quick schemes.  The show will be directed by Cheng Fen-Fen, produced by Lin Yu-Ling, and written by Hong Zi-Ying and Cheng Fen-Fen. It will be starring Christopher Lee, Alex Ko, Yu An-Shun, and Miao Ke-Li.

Clement Schwebig, the company’s managing director of Southeast Asia, Pacific and China, announced in a prepared statement: “With 20 HBO Asia Original productions to date, WarnerMedia is ramping up its investment in distinctive locally relevant content this year… fans can look forward to more HBO Asia Originals premiering this year, including more Taiwanese productions, starting with ‘Workers.'”
