As the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic causes programming chaos in the entertainment industry, CBS announces its plans for the end of ‘Surivor’ and the premiere of ‘Amazing Race’.
The 40th season of ‘Survivor’ will cap off with a three-hour finale on Wednesday, May 13th. Host Jeff Probst will discuss the highlights of the season with the twenty contestants via video call. Meanwhile, CBS announced that season 32 of ‘Amazon Race’ will begin on May 20th. After the abrupt cancellation of season 33 due to the international pandemic, the popular reality-adventure series will utilize all previously filmed material for season 32. Destinations for this season include Trinidad and Tobago, France, Germany, Kazakhstan and Brazil.
Noriko Kelley, executive vice president of program planning and scheduling at CBS, declared, “When ‘Survivor’ wraps one of its best seasons ever in May, we’re excited to schedule another signature reality series, ‘The Amazing Race,’ to step seamlessly into the time period.”
Before the season finale on May 13th, ‘Survivor’ will air a two-hour episode on May 6. The premiere of ‘Amazing Race’ on May 20th will be two hours long, and then return to its one-hour time slot in the following weeks.
