After the buzz and excitement surrounding the unscripted ’Friends’ reunion, the unforeseen events of the coronavirus has made HBO Max push back production, thus rendering the original premiere date in May as unlikely.
The original cast members of the renowned series were supposed to work on production from March 23rd to 24th in the lot where ‘Friends’ was normally filmed – Stage 24. Production was canceled just a week before filming, making it unfortunate for the cast and crew who have been diligently planning this special since it was greenlit in November 2019.
HBO Max said that “it is [still] coming” and they plan to inform fans of what’s next as soon as the premiere date is confirmed. The streaming service has confirmed that in May, the entire original series will be available to stream.
