Amid Coronavirus Pandemic, ABC Cancels ‘Bachelor Summer Games’

Along with the postponing of the Tokyo Summer Olympics, ABC’s planned counterprogramming has just been nixed.

Just as the Tokyo Summer Olympics have been delayed until the summer of 2021, the ‘Bachelor Summer Games’ have also been set back a year. Although it was never officially announced, ‘Bachelor Summer Games’ was set to be a spinoff of ABC’s popular dating show, featuring an international cast. It was planned as a follow-up to 2018’s ‘Bachelor Winter Games’.

“It’s all being talked about because you have to see how this impacts everything. But it’s still too far to make decisions on anything. The summer stuff is a little farther out and in early days, really,” ABC reality series chief Rob Mills said on March 11. “Everyone is being vigilant. Right now, literally every hour you are getting the updates and watching and everyone will be nimble based on that.”

Recently, production of another season of ‘The Bachelorette’ has also been canceled due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
