CBS ‘Silence of the Lambs’ Sequel Casts its New Clarice

CBS has just announced that Rebecca Breeds will be playing the the enduring FBI agent Clarice Starling in the TV sequel to the 1991 film.

Breeds, best known for her performances in ‘Pretty Little Liars’ and ‘The Originals’, will be playing the title role in ‘Clarice’. The show, a continuation of the popular 90’s horror film ‘Silence of the Lambs’, is set in 1993 and will focus on the unexplored personal story of Clarice Starling. “After more than 20 years of silence, we’re privileged to give voice to one of America’s most enduring heroes… hers is the very story we need today: her struggle, her resilience, her victory,” showrunners Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet said of Breed’s character.

Kurtzman and Lumet wrote and will be executive producing the series, alongside Heather Kadin. The show will be a co-production with MGM TV and CBS TV Studios, and a release date has not yet been announced.
