The upcoming Quibi TV show will be based on a 1994 George Huang film of the same name.

Kathleen Robertson will be rewriting Huang’s film, which tells the story of a young assistant at a Hollywood production company working to outwit his deceitful and abusive boss. While the film adaptation was predominantly an all-male cast, the TV adapation will star Diane Kruger as the head of the studio and Kiernan Spika, star of the popular Netflix series ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’, as her clever assistant.

Robertson, Tucker Gates, and Chris Cowles will be producing ‘Swimming with Sharks’, with Dana Brunetti and Liz Destro as executive producers. Quibi has not yet announced a release date for the series, as the mobile streaming service will not be launching until April 6th.
