Every year it’s maddening to find all of the good Christmas episodes episodes because of the sheer amount of TV- but fear not! Here are the greatest Christmas episodes to watch this holiday season.

Friends, “The One Where Rachel Quits”

Out of all of the Christmas episodes, “The One With the Holiday Armadillo” is certainly the one that’s the most hyped, but we decided on “The One Where Rachel Quits” as having a bit more holiday spirit. Rachel’s realization that she finally has to take the leap to pursue the career she really wants is the best holiday gift of all.


Grey’s Anatomy, “Holidaze”

Although this episode focuses on three different holidays, it’s all worth it in the end for the big Christmas dinner and caroling with all of the surgeons.

This season’s Christmas episode is on our list for Luke’s romantic holiday gesture for Lorelai, where he turns something she loathes about the season into a beautiful gift.


The Office, “Christmas Party”

We know that as a television site we’re required to include something from the Office, so “Christmas Party” is our pick. The simple storyline showcases all of the characters and, more importantly, Jim and Pam’s developing relationship.

The major story involves Leslie being caught in the cross-fire of a councilman’s cheating scandal, but the city council planning of the Winter Wonderland event is what places this episode on our list.


How I Met Your Mother, “Symphony of Illumination”

This episode of beloved sitcom ‘How I Met Your Mother’ balances classic holiday spirit with a dark twist involving Robin and her pregnancy scare. While the Christmas charades with Marshall and his lights are fun, this episode is included for how it includes a serious topic that ends up being a beautiful storyline.

New Girl, “LAXmas”

Each member of apartment 4D ends up at LAX for their holiday travel plans, but they all end up trapped together. In a combination of 1980’s Christmas films, the episode pays homage to well known holiday movies while including its own brilliant writing and cast chemistry. And don’t forget a guest appearance by Billy Eichner!

Modern Family, “Express Christmas”

The ABC veteran series channels every family’s problem into a single episode- being in different places on Christmas day. To solve the problem, everyone gets scrambles to have an “Express Christmas” on December 16 complete with a dinner, presents, and decorations.
