The Netflix mega-hit has, no surprise, been renewed for a fourth season.
Though no official premiere date has been set, Netflix did release a teaser announcement of the new season with their new slogan “we’re not in Hawkins anymore”.
The streamer has also signed a reportedly nine figure deal with the show’s creators Matt and Ross Duffer in a major TV and film contract. The brothers say of the renewal and deal, “From that first pitch meeting to the release of Stranger Things 3, the entire Netflix team has been nothing short of sensational, providing us with the kind of support, guidance and creative freedom we always dreamed about. We can’t wait to tell many more stories together — beginning, of course, with a return trip to Hawkins!”
No exact pay point is known for the young adult castmembers, but reports indicate that they’ve negotiated to hundreds of thousands of dollars per episode.
It’s unknown if this season will be the last, but the deal with the Duffers indicates that there’ll be a lot more content coming from them in upcoming years- whether or not that’s in the Upside Down.
