For this week’s up and coming creator showcase we are looking at a personal favorite and triple threat Hannah Marks.

Actor, director, and writer it seems as though Hannah’s doing it all and doing it well. She’s this week’s featured “Rising Star” for the recent buzz surrounding her short film “Banana Split” which won her, funnily enough, Vail Film Festivals, 2019 Rising Star Award. Not only that, but Marks is soon to become one of the youngest women in history to direct a Hollywood studio with the film adaptation of John Green’s ‘Turtles All the Way Down’.

Marks really stands out from the rest with the type of warmth and realness she brings to her short films and acting roles. When watching, it’s easy to tell every project is a passion project. She came into my view with her incredible role in the fantasy/sci fi mystery ‘Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency’. While she may have played a more minor role, she truly stood out with her ability to portray her minor character as well developed and someone to root for. She truly turned what could have been a throw away character into an emotional pillar for the show with just her performance alone. It’s been really exciting watching her recently take more leadership positions and behind the scenes roles, and breathe life into new original stories. She is truly one to watch, as there are a lot of projects on the way. I for one am looking forward to what she has in store.
