Teen drama ’13 Reasons Why’ just came out with its season 3 trailer and release date, but it reveals the death of one of its characters.

The trailer cuts to several action-packed scenes with a dramatic voiceover, but ends with all of the characters standing around a casket in a cemetery next to a framed photo of the character in his varsity jacket.

Season 3 of the Netflix original is coming out August 23. Netflix also renewed the show for its fourth and final season but has yet to announce a release date.
